Just over a week ago the staircase was finally installed, and then last week the downstairs toilet was put in under the stairs. Following that the upstairs flooring was laid and the plumbers and electrician finished off their work too. We have cold water and electricity, by the end of this week we should have hot water and a telephone line!
We've been allowed some access to the house to start our own work. So we've done some painting, mainly undercoat. Which is a tedious job! And this weekend our kitchen has really started to take shape.

2 weeks today we should have finished moving in! That's when the van is booked for, so lets hope we'll be ready!
Tomorrow our project manager will be doing his energy efficiency tests, to check we can have the BBC label. This is not British Broadcasting Corporation, but Bâtiment Basse Consommation (low energy consumption building). On Tuesday the cleaners will be in to make it all nice and shiny, then on Wednesday we get our keys!
