1st visit to the new house

We got the keys to our new house yesterday. The inventory or "etat des lieux" was extremely detailled, never seen anything like it in the UK! The agent wrote down every single little mark on the walls and floor and tested every lightbulb, shower heads, taps, window locks, everything! How it should be done I suppose!

We tried to decide where we're going to put our furniture and more importantly the TV and the computer! We do have lots of room but I don't want to fill it all up with furniture, I want the space to live in!

We also went to SFR to get our internet package ordered. We'll have broadband, with the telephone and tv both via the internet. We should have a very high speed (up to 20meg) but might be more like 5meg in our area, thats more than we have in Bath.

Laila seemed very happy with the house, she tested out the echo in every room, shouting nice and loud to hear it properly!! Hopefully once the furniture is in it won't be so loud!

We had a nice suprise in her room, its already painted pink and purple. The previous tenants had it full of cabinets to display their model motorbike collection so we never saw the actualy colour of the walls. She also has a very cool cubbyhole in her room which she can climb into! She says her dollies are going to live there, will be so cute to see her playing in it!

We've brought paint from England for Max's room, it doesn't look too bad on the photos, but it is a really dark blue, just too dark. Dad is starting on the painting tomorrow morning, so its all dry for Thursday when our things arrive.

Mum and I are going up there too, but not as early as Dad. We're going to do some cleaning and then go for lunch on the seafront at Perros Guirec which is a lovely resort on the coast. Mums friend Cindi is coming too to help look after the little ones while we get on with our stuff.

Had a lovely relaxing day today at mum and dads, our only day of rest probably! Its been really hot. Dad took Francois back to the airport for his lunchtime flight back home :-(

He seemed quite sad to leave, but he has to finish the packing, help the movers and then finish up at work before he can come back again.

We'll miss him lots, but have plenty to do to keep us busy till then.
