It's a bank holiday here on the Thursday next week (Acension), and the schools and a lot of workplaces are closing on the Friday as well, so we're making a long weekend into a holiday week! It's almost unheard of for the French to go "en vacances" when it's not "les grandes vacances", so we get a few strange looks when we say we're going away. People do go away for long weekends etc, but to the French "en vacances" means spending a month by the sea somewhere, preferably in July or August. We like to be different, and take advantage of still being able to go outside of school holidays when its cheaper. We'll most likely be surrounded by lots of English people, but that's fine, in fact it will be good for Laila and Max to hear some English for a change!
Laila is most looking forward to this:
I have to show her the picture several times a day! This is our campsite swimming pool, and I expect we'll be there for a few hours everyday!

We do plan to do some other stuff though too...cycling through the forests and dunes, the beaches, maybe a boat trip to L'Ile d'Yeu, and if the weather isn't great there are aquariums, and even an indoor pool on our campsite!
Only 5 sleeps left!!!!

I'm about 20km away from there all this week and so far the weather has been absolutely beautiful. Hopefully it will hold out for your week here too!
