time for an update?

Whether you're waiting for an update or not, here it comes!!!

The last few weeks have been very busy in my world, it was the school Easter holidays. This means annoyingly delightfully I got to look after my children full time for 2 weeks! I had made some very good plans to keep us busy, but you know what they about the best-laid plans....

Laila hunting for Easter Eggs
It started with Easter weekend which was lovely, we went to Grandma and Grandad's and Laila finally got her "Heaster Hegg Hunt" she'd be waiting all month for! She was also delighted to discover Grandad had installed a swing in one of the trees in their garden. Max was more interested in the wheelbarrow and Grandads tractor mower!

I was hoping for one of Laila's cousins to visit us and keep her entertained but that never came to anything, Grandma and Grandad were away in the UK for the first week visiting friends and family, including my gorgeous niece Naomi, and I had a couple appointments in Lannion so we were stuck here. We tried the library which was closed each morning (?), so went to the local parks instead.

I surpassed myself on one day and took Laila and Max to Tregastel Marine Aquarium, which is actually pretty small but that in itself was a good thing.

They both really enjoyed it, and in the afternoon I got them to do some painting of what they saw. This was Max's first time painting, he was very unsure at first and then once he started tasting it I had to take it away from him! Laila did some great pictures, but then spotted the roller and rolled more paint over all of them! Note to self: remove roller from painting box!

The Royal Wedding was the big event (for me) in the middle of the holidays. I did write an entire blog post on it, but sadly (or not for some of you) it wouldn't save properly so I gave up! I had difficulty trying to entertain the little ones enough to let me watch it all, but I got most of it and enjoyed it immensely. Here was Laila's project for the day, that she had done by 9.30am and then was bored!!!!

I took Laila to the cinema on the Sunday morning to see Winnie the Pooh, she's only been to the cinema once with school and before in Bath when she was much younger. So it was our first proper trip to see a proper film! It was lovely to do something just the two of us, and she LOVED the film!

Then François fell ill with Vertigo, it was awful, the first couple of days he couldn't move out of bed, I had to help him to the loo and everytime he got up he was sick :-(. Once the medication kicked in he started to feel better and was able to sit up and then finally came downstairs after 3 days. My mum came to help (almost straight off the boat from England!) as it was hard work looking after the little ones and trying to keep them from disturbing Daddy too much. He's all better now and waiting for an ENT appointment to investigate the cause.

Hugo

Theo and Laila planning somethin
That meant we couldn't go to François parents in Quimperlé as planned that week, but we did get there on the last weekend of the hols and had a lovely time with Laila's cousins Hugo and Theo who were there too. Hugo some of you will remember from our wedding, he is 6.5 now! He's my godson, I don't get to see him much so it was lovely to spend some time with him. Theo is just a few months younger than Laila and up until now they never got on with each other! This time however they've both grown up a little bit and played together very nicely.

Max decided this was the weekend he would start walking everywhere on his own. He'd been taking steps for a while, but now he walks or runs everywhere!

School has been back a week and a half and I am definitely less stressed. This has been helped by Grandma and Grandad taking Laila and Max for a night this weekend and giving us our first EVER complete 24 hours off!!! It was AMAZING!!!! It will definitely be repeated, the kids had fun, Grandma and Grandad loved their exclusive access to their grandchildren and we got so much done at home and a LIE IN!
Us

Next thing to look forward to is our holiday, Laila's very excited about all the swimming I've mentioned! We're going to a gorgeous campsite in the Vendee at the end of May for a week in a mobile home, I just need to drop hubby a hint about the Spa they have there as it will be Mothers Day (in France) and our wedding anniversary while we're there!

Oh my never knew that Francois was so unwell...glad to hear that he is better now! Means we need to keep in touch more often or that you need to blog more often! Listening to your account of Easter has me feeling the trepidation already of all I have to look forward to! Lol.
