I first heard the song at my Zumba class, and even when it was new to the class quite a few of the girls seemed to know the moves. I didn't know if it was an official Zumba routine that they'd seen before on the Wii or youtube for example, or if the moves were from the music video. I also had no idea of the name of the song or the singer....
After a couple of weeks I noticed the song was being played in all the shops here in France, so I had a look at the chart list and there it was at number one!
I would say this is a sign of getting old, no longer knowing what's hot in the charts, BUT in my defence, there is NO equivalent to Radio 1 here, I do miss it so much. And despite being the telecoms capital of Brittany if not France, Lannion is really rubbish for radio stations! If you like Phil Collins then this is the place to be!
So to get back to my song...
The song is called Ai se eu te pego and it's by Michel Telo, a Brazilian singer. His song became famous when football stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo did his celebratory dance to it at Real Madrid in 2011, apparently Rafael Nadal is also a fan, and there's also a great video of Brazilian footballer Neymar dancing to it in the dressing rooms of his club, worth a look girls! There's even an English version "If I catch you", but it doesn't seem as good as the original.
For now I leave you with the official video
