SO as some of you will have seen on my Facebook page I have a job teaching English which starts in September. I have also just finished my online TEFL course which took me 5 months, I was doing it very part-time! With all the school holidays and various illnesses plus our holidays I sometimes went weeks without doing any. But I now have 3 certificates, one saying I have completed the 60 hour TEFL training course, one for the 20 hour grammar awareness course and one for the One-to-One teaching course.
The job started by a chance meeting. I got a phonecall from a Frenchman in Lannion wanting to buy my Lost DVDs I was selling online. We met for the handover and he asked if I was English and if I was looking for work, thank goodness my French accent isn't that good!!!
I will start by doing 2 days of One-to-One English conversation classes a week from September to December and hopefully continue into next year. Then when they have an opening for a grammar teacher they will add me to "proper" teaching staff!!
The classes are teaching adults within Alcatel in Lannion, this is where I did my work experience 10 years ago, and I will actually be teaching some people that I used to "teach" back then!
