Batteries recharged

This weekend we handed the little ones over to the Grandparents for a night so we could recharge our batteries. It's the 2nd time we've done that now, and despite all the motherly guilt I feel (for the first 10 mins anyway) it is amazing!
I feel completely rested, which is incredible considering we didn't really stop to relax at all! We've been busy with all sorts of stuff (which I will write about in future posts), the kind of stuff you can't get done with kids around. We went to pick them up from the grandparents this afternoon and got a sunday roast cooked for us as well, such a fabulous service!!

We're almost halfway through the summer holidays now, and I'm trying desperately to find things to do on all the rainy days that we've had and there's more forecast tomorrow. I'm out of ideas, Max thinks the library is a soft play centre and somewhere you can run and scream! There is no soft play centre here, except in Mcdonalds, but adults can't get inside it and it's too big for Max. Can't go swimming on my own with 2 little ones, especially my 2 little ones, too dangerous, and we've been to the aquarium twice, that's about the only indoor place to visit!
I've even done the food shopping so can't stick them in a trolley for an hour!

Might get the paints out tomorrow, and lots and lots of newspaper, I'm pretty sure I'll spend more time preparing that than they'll spend actually painting....

Wish me luck!
