While we've all been busy with the house, "Baby Max" as we still call him (!) has been busy too. He has cut his first 2 teeth this week with relatively little trouble. He's been chewing everything that passes near his mouth, so we've had to teach Laila NOT to put her fingers anywhere near his mouth! She's also learning not to rub her head against his as she likes to do as he now grabs her hair with 2 iron fists! We have to tell him not to pull her hair, it feels weird telling a 4 month old off for doing something, but we have to do it for Laila's sake!
He has also learned to roll over from his front to his back now, probably thanks to all his time on the playmat. This is quite a difficult skill to master which involves throwing his legs over first and then launching his head and neck, often landing his head with a bang and then a big smile when he realises what he's just done! He's been rolling from back to front since he was about 10 weeks old, so now he just has to realise he can do full circle and he will be off across the room. Laila did it in exactly the same way and rolled everywhere!
He's going longer and longer at night without feeding, only has one feed between 7pm and 7am now. And he was happily going 4 hours between feeds in the day, but that seems to be getting a bit shorter now. He is very interested in whatever we are eating, so I'm just waiting till it seems like the right time and we'll start him on some baby rice. We had already started Laila by this age, but looking back, she didn't really take to it until she was 5 months, so I've been happy to wait a little longer this time!
